Not able to connect phone in USB/Media storage mode
I had the same problem but I figured a way out:
- Disconnect USB cable from PC
- Go to Settings > About phone > Tap on 'Build-number' until you are in developer mode
- Go back to Settings and choose Developer Options
- Enable USB debugging
- Connect your phone to PC
(Optional: If you're on Linux you can check for a Google Inc. device with 'sudo lsusb' in the terminal)
- Wait for 30 seconds
- Disconnect USB cable
- Go back to Settings and choose Developer Options
- Disable USB debugging
- Switch Developer Options off
- Connect USB cable
- Go to Settings > Storage
- Tap the 'three-dots-icon' in the right upper corner and tap 'USB computer connection'
- Enable any function you want, it should be alright now
